About Fresno Composite Squadron #112
Welcome to the Civil Air Patrol Fresno Composite Squadron 112 website!
A major part of our program is devoted to our local youth, ages 12 to 21. We offer a structured training program with the goal of facilitating the development of dynamic, productive citizens who will become our future leaders. We provide learning and training opportunities in areas such as leadership, emergency services, drill and ceremonies, character and ethical development, fitness, and life skills. Many of our cadets have been accepted to military academies over the years.
Our squadron also offers community outreach services to local educational institutions and educators supporting such topics as aviation, STEM, rocketry and aerospace, and cyber forensics. We offer flight opportunities to teachers and explore career opportunities with students in areas related to STEM, aerospace, and engineering, to name a few.
As the USAF Auxiliary, we are Fresno area’s civilian side of the United States Air Force (USAF). Our local members carry out missions assigned to us by the USAF and other government agencies.
A few of these missions include Western Air Defense intercept training for the California Air National Guard 144th Fighter Wing; Predator Drone pilot training; locating and silencing activated aircraft, vessel, and personal beacons; and search and rescue efforts for downed aircraft, and missing or lost individuals.
We also work with FEMA and the California Office of Emergency Services to provide food distribution services during the COVID-19 pandemic, and aerial reconnaissance and damage assessment photography following disasters, including California’s devastating floods and fires during recent years. We support emergency services and disaster relief with both air and ground services.
We assist the US Coast Guard, DEA, and Homeland Security with Counter Drug missions (as civilians and not as law enforcement).
Our squadron also offers community outreach services to local educational institutions and educators supporting such topics as aviation, STEM, rocketry and aerospace, and cyber forensics.
